This looks linear enough to fit a function. Remember, these are 2009 prices but I think the same idea holds true. Instant graph (well, instant except for looking up all the prices). The cool thing about all of the LEGO sets is that the number of pieces is always listed.
Once you move away from mini-figure scale into model scale or 'advanced buidlings', the the 2x4 is a very efficient piece to quickly build up the structure. Basically, I looked at the price of different LEGO sets along with their pieces. As the overall scale of LEGO models gets smaller and smaller to accommodate the ever-popular mini-figure, the relatively large 2x4 brick will be discarded in favor of plates and smaller bricks. This is older data from a previous post, but I like it so much I decided to include it here also. Unfortunately, I didn't have old math blocks to compare to newer blocks. Maybe this would lead them to maintain their size over a long period of time. Honestly, I don't know much about plastic manufacturing - but the LEGO blocks appear to be created from harder plastic. I probably need more data, but these seem to be built with around the same level of precision. Let me remove the wooden plank data and plot just the other stuff so it will be easier to make a comparison.
So in total, the cost of the wall, minus transport of materials would cost about 425 billion dollars.Clearly the wooden planks have a much wider distribution than the rest of the objects. Let's assume the workforce would be Mexican, which would be hilarious, they would make approximately 300 pesos (14 dollars) in an 8 hour shift. Assuming a 40 hour work week, it would take a total of 48,000,000,000 man hours to complete this task. With labor, James May's Lego House consisted of 3,300,000 million lego bricks (which is about one millionth of the wall) took 1200 one month to complete. So based on that, your total price would be around 350 billion dollars. According to stackexchange, you can buy 650 bricks for $70 straight from Lego, and that's not even a real bulk shipment, but it's certainly more appropriate since there is no middle man. Your math assumes we are buying bricks through amazon, but in reality, we would get much bigger bulk shipments of items directly from the store. Don't use this unless you really have to.
